Laura Black

Native of Cameroon, a french and english-speaking country in Central Africa, Laura was Born in 1982. She has been singing and writing for over 14 years. Laura was also a member of a gospel choir while in high school. She recently obtained a masters in Marketing and Management in Paris, France (2005).

Growing up on "NEW JACK SWING'' thanks to her Big brothers and cousin in the early nineties, her favorite artist were SWV, Portrait, Hi-Five, Brandy, H-town, Jodeci, Shanice, Guy, Bell Biv Devoe, TLC, Tony Toni Toné, Immature, Intro,Troop,New-Edition, Zhane, X-Scape and others. Laura also appreciates good soul music from the likes of Teddy Pendergrass, India.Arie, Percy Sledge, Caldvin Richardson, Syleena Johnson. D'Angelo, Anthony Hamilton, Raphael Saadiq, Glenn Lewis, Jill Scott, Bilal...

In France, the english language serves as barrier for her music. Being a singer and songwriter, Laura has decided to relocate to the United States to get more opportunities in the music industry. As influnced, English language gives her more inspiration. To deliver a new and creative sound, Laura has added a touch of her african origin to her music to uphold her nickname as, "The Music Daughter". This name was given to Laura when performing clubs in Paris and London. Laura is currently open and available for booking to perform at venues in the United States.
